Wander Darkly dives into the surreal way we process memories after an accident. The regrets and hopes of the survivor are tender and sweet. I was pulled into the story, unsure as the main character what had really happened. Has she died or has her boyfriend and father of her child died? It’s a surreal, dreamlike, love story that succeeds because of excellent acting by Miller and Luna, superb cinematography, and direction. It is a woman’s, and a couple’s journey, and a very touching drama. The fluid scene transitions reminded me of The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Across the Universe. Kudos to writer and director Tara Miele.
