Christopher Nolan directs this spell-binding film which depicts Robert Oppenheimer as a scientist, played brilliantly by Cillian Murphy, who ultimately losses all control over the use of the weapon he developed with his team of scientists. Emily Blunt's portrayal of his wife Katherine depicts this thwarted scientist, who is pushed in the tradional female role, as a tormented complex character. The government's treatment of Oppenheimer after the war is shockingly presented by Nolan.

The film is very dark. Lydia Tar is cruel to the people she works with in the orchestra. She only seems to love Petra, the daughter she is raising with her wife Nina.

Wonderful, complex film with great cinematography. Kofi Smit-McPhee's character is haunting. What eyes! Cumberbatch's role is outstanding. Jane Campion's directing is stellar!

This movie with fabulous actors made me laugh out loud! Loved it !
