The End of Evangelion was an interesting film upon first viewing. To say the very least, it is not for the faint of heart and had left me babbling for an hour after watching it. Upon recovering from this mental contamination, it quickly became one of my favorite movies of all time. The End of Evangelion is not just the ending of the show Neon Genesis Evangelion, but also a delve into the human psyche and how we affect the world around us. By the end of it, as the beautiful score by Shiro Sagisu played upon the horrific final scene, I feel comfort knowing that everything will turn out alright. While the story may be confusing without assistance, it is presented beautifully with breathtaking animation and amazing voice acting (if you are watching the original Japanese of course). The End of Evangelion has definitely left an impact (heh) on me and will continue to be one of my biggest influences in writing.
Best scene was Asuka fighting the Mass Production Evangelions. Absolute. Masterpiece.
