Mr. Blue Sky – Google

Jaws is just a masterpiece in many different ways. The performances, the music, the effects, the kills, and how little you see the titular shark, which I call Jaws. Fans of the novel said it was unfilmable, it couldn't be made. But not only did 27-year old Spielberg did the impossible, it was better than the novel, which I only read a few chapters of. First, there was Psycho. Then there was The Exorcist. Shortly after came The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Those films were no match for the first summer blockbuster. And let's hope, while the next horror films are great, it stays that way. There is no film like Jaws. Never was, and there never will be. Although, don't take my word for it. I mean, maybe you can. But, listen to literally everyone else. Jaws won't die, and it never will.

This movie is unbelievably beautiful. The ending was the first time I ever cried during a movie in a long long time. Everything about it is beautiful. The performances of Nicholson, Fletcher, Sampson, DeVito, Lloyd, Dourif, and the other voices that make this movie. The soundtrack is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. When you see the film, you'll see why it won all the major Oscars for years to come.

Out of all the slashers you want to poke fun at, Terror Train might be the film for you. Cheesy yet in a fun way. The switching in and out of costumes trick is a pretty clever idea, yet the film doesn’t bother to explore more into it. David Copperfield is a waste of time, the killer’s identity is painfully obvious (although his reveal is set in the most surprising way), and the scene where the Conductor finds the lizard costume’s dead body, only to find it completely clean within a minute is physically impossible. I’m wishing there was a remake, and if there’s a guy that loves horror so much that he would bring bad ones justice, it’s gotta be me.

Just saw it this morning. The real FBI actually cooperated with the film as they saw it as a good marketing tool to recruit more female agents. While the lines used in other stuff might now be overrated a bit, you can tell why this movie had a huge phenomenal impact when it was first released. Hannibal the Cannibal, Clarice and Grumb/Bill will go down in history books as a horror movie that reminded people what horror actually was to franchises like Friday and Nightmare, which at the time took itself 15% serious. Plus, that cake at the end. I want to have a slice of that. Barely any other horror film will be able to top the terror of the film. While I do think Red Dragon should’ve been made first with Hopkins, this truly is one of the greatest horror movie of all time.

The parents who forced their 3 year old kids to write “Santa is not a murderer” on a sheet of poster board didn’t even bother seeing this film to file a full complaint. Too bad, it’s amazing. I feel sorry whenever I see a photo of Billy. Ricky, maybe a little, but only because he actually remembers this murder fourth years later, when it happened when he was a baby. Great film. I suggest you give it a watch.
