Don't watch this, I mean just don't, really don't do it yourself. I have witnessed few things more hateful, spiteful, and tawdry that appears to despise humanity as much as this film. It is very competently made but just because you can do something it doesn't mean you should.

This is actually quite an interesting movie but it does fluctuate wildly from interesting to time filling tedium. Sections of the movie; like the rich kids extravagantly flinging money around felt like an Al Qaeda recruitment promo, to the section where it's frustratingly an endless succession of the characters asking "Have you seen this guy?" to no success, to the section of the two main characters try to have sex in every conceivable location all felt like padding, but then other sections; like with the parents arrival and arrival of the henchmen to the house felt truly gripping and unpredictable. The problem the movie has is that all the characters are largely utterly unpleasant (except for the hapless hemchmen who seem to not wanna have to be doing what they are expectedto do) all with their own particular streak of character flaw, although some characters have an absolute fistful rather than just the one. The sex scenes aren't that exciting or titillating, and just mostly feel like out takes from the Sopranos. The presentation of sex workers in the movies seems probably relatively accurate, with them telling men exactly what they wanna hear to get most amount of money possible from them and shows the ladies largely ridiculing the men and looking down on them as easy marks or just crap at sex, which is probably quite spot on.

I liked the first movie, i was interested to see how this one played out. I made great efforts to avoid any reviews before watching this movie so I went in unsure with what kind of movie it would be. Sadly, it's basically a musical, each and every song led me to be wishing i could fast forward through them, as they add nothing to the movie and take you out the movie, especially when it's the characters singing in a normal setting but with music playing, if you remove the music it would be super strange. I wonder if the movie was always supposed to be a musical or it only became one cuz Lady Gaga was cast. Either way it utterly ruined the movie. Never has dialogue in a movie more represented my experience as a viewer when Arthur asks Harvey to stop singing and just speak. It's sadly inevitable and very much in keeping with the modern way of viewing the world that the movie wants to portray the murderer as the victim and any authority figures as the bad guys, the predictable way that the prison guards are presented is nauseating. I'm sure the writers and directors believed they were being very insightful.

Wafching this movie is like starting a 6 season show at the start of season 3, it made no sense, it is very clear that the movie believes its being very clever indeed, but it's just baffling, utterly baffling. I was really looking forward to this, as it sounded like it should be really good, but, no, not at all. I think they were using the modern day to retell the stories of Anicent Rome but it simply did not work for me, I struggled to stay awake, and was checking my watch throughout. The whole stopping time aspect seemed superfluous and redundant. Pompous, self-agrandising, meandering, and utterly confused.

I would imagine that had a man written and directed this movie it would have been dismissed or called out as disgustingly misogynistic, sexist, perverted, objectifying, shallow, or offensive, but because it was made by a lady, it's a masterpiece, its genius, it's so thought provoking and challenging. But its has the subtly of a brick to the face, while shouting at you "you see, she has it hard, cuz she is old, so she is replaced by a younger sexier lady, you see, its not fair, the man is bad so shallow" despite the show she presents is clearly for women so men's views on the presenter is unlikely to be significant. You can see that the maker most probably believed the movie had depth, meaning, insight and hard hitting commentary about how hard it is for older women in society, but the actions of all the characters leads you to conclude all them deserved exactly what they had coming and are all vain, selfish and pretty vacuous. I can only conclude that the writer has a needle and arse fetish such it the ridiculously overuse of closeups of both to the point it becomes boring. In comparison to this movie I'd be interested to see how a movie made by a man who presented all the female characters as either buffonishly evil, or weak or pervy would be received, not well I predict but I sure this will barely raise a ripple of comment on that part.

I have truly mixed feelings about show, while it is incredibly interesting and fascinating, but the main character of House; Gregory House is a truly despicable, unsympathetic, contemptible, toxic and unlikable character. I realise it may seem like hyperbole, but it has kinda ruined TV ever since and to a degree wider society. The way the show portrays him as some misanthropic anti hero we should be impressed by and admired with his couldn't care less about anyone type attitude and it tries so hard to make him appear rebellious and cool and someone we should root, but i spent the whole show really hoping he would be proved wrong and humiliated, it has truly teenageresque levels of character complexity and development. The character of House sadly seems to have caused the copying of House's character in numerous shows afterwards, by making the grumpy, unapproachable, bully type genius, who treats everyone with extreme contempt and disgust, as somehow we should look up to and tolerate their absolute poisonous traits as the model lead character countless other shows, much to the detriment of entertainment, and givng lazy hack writers an easy hook to hang a show on. It really has a "emperor's new clothes" type vibes about it, suggesting to us; isnt he deep, isnt he brave, fighting against the norms of humanity and hating people for their percieved weaknesses which he believes he is so much better than. He could have had a far more interesting character arc but sadly it seems the writers just enjoyed writing him as an awful human too much to try. A character that poisons the lives of everyone he has interactions with in such a way that we, the viewer chortle along with admire his cutting honesty. Why any of the other characters would want to have anything to do with him seems utterly incomprehensible. Obviously they all have to have their own 'paint but numbers' flaws which is suppose to explain why they would tolerate him for even the shortest period of time but by suggesting that they would want to be around him for as long they did just stretches the realms of believability to breaking point. There's a doctor in the prison who asks the truly toe curling question to House, "For somebody who asks as many favours as you do, you sure don't much effort to win me over", after which she then pours praise over him and does everything he asks of her and seems utterly intoxicated by his utter disrespect of her, its nauseating. Its shameful thay he is enabled and allowed to fer away with so much stuff absolutely scot free is grotesque, that so many people are in his thrall is truly annoying. One of the main characters in the show; Wilson (House's supposed best "friend", (which is a laughable protrayal) just comes across as absolutely pathetic with his constant enabling of House in everything he does, and repeatedly acts as his whipping boy, only makes him seem like a poorly realised creation of a hack writer who doesn't grasp how humans act. The presentation of the character of Cuddy actually falling for him and wanting a relationship with the man who had abused her so horrifically for so long is also beyond the realms of comprehension and sends a pretty poor message about suggesting women wanting to tolerate shockingly awful behaviour from abusive scummy men, just cuz they are an obnoxious genius. But having said that it is still an excellent and absorbing show, but don't binge watch it as you may possibly get angry with the tv, the show, the actors, he makers, society and the world for presenting the lionization of a truly disgusting character. It's a shame Hugh Laurie is just so god damn compelling.

I really wanted to like this, i was a big fan of Peaky Blinders, the adverts for it looked great, i went into it with such positivity and high expectations, sadly i was very disappointed as many of the characters are insufferable, which makes you pity the decent human beings in the show, ans makes you wish they were tje focis instead. The sufferables really should have been told so, yet sadly, they are indulged and enabled by people who shouldn't have and seemingly had no reason to, other than pandering. Dante as a character isn't interesting or insightful, or intriguing, or deep, he is just arrogant, self indulgent, self obsessed, delusional, selfish, and pretentious. You can kind of imagine the writer sitting there preening his own ego, incredibly satisfied with what he sees as his clever and interwoven the story, but in reality it is clogged to the gills with storylines that make rhe show ponderous and leads you repeatedly to be disappointed by how little time has actually elapsed.

One of the worst shows I have ever seen, please not waste nearly 8 hours of your life with this. This is why; 1. The lighting choices for scenes are so bad it is often hard to see who is in the scene, what they are doing or where they are, 70% of it seems unwatchable. 2. The sound score sounds like an amateur making an industrial goth soundtrack for a school project and is relentlessly trying to be tense, which renders the efforts pointless. 3. The content is scarificed for overly stylised presentation which makes the show seem like a Tim Burton movie mashed into a Marilyn Manson video. 4. The characters are created with such broad brush strokes they are literally cookie cutter and could be in any show; the irritable genius main protagonist, who is nowhere near good enough to justify him being so annoying, the contrasting sidekick, who get himself in way too many life threatening situations, the strong independent female struggling to be recognised against prejudice and at times threats of rape, the hateful and corrupt police captain and ex-commissioner, and the killer, well amazingly we never learn anything about him personally, just the usual observations from our 'heros'. 5. Lost plot lines, there are so many plot threads that are just abandoned, the lost notebook which suggested the police would frame the sidekick, never mentioned again. The crampons found at a murder scene, never mentioned again despite being very important, the high society guy with the silver smile, such an important feature, but disappears without being mentioned again, the attempted murder of the doctor and sidekick, by shooting a coachman and the coach crashing off a bridge, never mentioned again, the potential murder of the police captain, attempted once and not mentioned again, the possible police corruption regarding the police knowing the identity of the killer and trying to keep it secret, not mentioned again. If you were to cut out the useless scenes, needless plotlines, and overstylized rubbish, you could have a decent 2 hour movie but instead it's a near 8 hour mess.

Too many strange and bizarre plot holes that makes it very hard to suspend your disbelief. The main character's motives, while understandable, appear so poorly conceived that success would be utterly impossible and ultimately lead to pretty serious complications. The staggering ease with which the plot is accepted by the protagonists as perfectly normal makes it even harder to stay connected to the plot.
