I tend to buy a Fifa game every two years as I mean most years you get about a £2 patch for your £god knows what RRP is these days. However this is the first one I bought after fifa16 decided to skip 18 after they destroyed the world cup mode. So this is the first new game in 4 years that I have bought and not a lot has changed.
The game play is well perhaps more "realistic" but it has lost a lot of the fun. The ball moves along the ground like you are playing every game away at a conference side mid winter on a waterlogged pitch.
They still haven't fixed the speed or goalkeeper problems that have plagued fifa for at least the last 10 years.
They are meant to have fixed the defending from last year for this game but when you can quite easily dribble past the entire Barcelona defence with a centre back from a team from Ireland I hate to think what the last one must have been like.
All the single player modes pretty much identical to fifa16. Volta football like the old fifa street games fun for about 4 games then you never touch it again. What even is that story mode I got about 10 minutes into it never again.
Why do they have unlicensed teams just drop leagues you where you cant even give the teams the correct names.
The addition of the Copa libatories is probably the best new thing to hit fifa in the last 10 years, Finally something new, new teams etc. Just a shame you can't use them in anything other than the pre built conmebol modes such as custom tournaments.
Would love to see something similar for Africa and Asia as especially Africa has been massively undeserved by EA.
I don't play the FUT thing because why pay £50 a year for updated teams to play fantasy football? Especially the amount you need to spend to get ahead. I pray for a world where gambling is not allowed in kids games.
Summary its Fifa and the only major changes in the last 4 years since the last Fifa I owned seem to have sacrificed fun for fake realism.
lets see if we can get fifa22 second had for about £10 in a couple of years.
