What a surprise as I am not a fan of Sean Penn, but both Penn & Gibson were outstanding. The beautiful cinematography and their dialects were mesmerizing. A very long interactive movie, but so poignant and the ending was just magnificent.

No rating at all. Absolutely worst movie and not honestly promoted and the genre is diabolical. I had a winner Wiener dog so I presumed this would be light-hearted funny with a Danny DeVito character--what could go wrong. Everything and I puked at the end, b/c my dog had the same fate and was loved by our family for many years. Why wouldn't they give a true critique & synopsis so that viewers are not revolted of the climatic loser of a film this truly is. A dark comedy? Really dirt.

This movie was outstanding and Ray and his crew are just incredible. The SWEENEY is packed with suspense, raw action, and unbelievable acting. I don't understand why the ratings aren't superb b/c everything about it was non-stop, great acting, and chase scenes that keep you on the edge of your seats. 5 stars for this one and this British Police Thriller is the real 'Sweeney' and Ray Winstone using his hard-core illegal methods of solving the most horrendous of crimes was tremendous.

What a beautiful, outstanding and truthful display of grief in the loss of his 26 yr old marriage and life with his cancer-ridden wife's death. Thank you R.Gervais for your candor, sarcastic humor & Netflix has allowed viewers to witness one of his best works, EVER!
