The book is alright I guess. I'm not even halfway through but it feels like a rip-off of Memoirs of a Geisha. Sure there's magic and a walking dead guy but that isn't enough to hide the fact that the author is a lazy writer. Just because the book is aimed at young adults, doesn't mean it should be a cut-and-paste affair with a little magic thrown in to lure them in.
