I’ve seen most renditions of this movie and in every single one there’s no mention of The black soldiers serving in the navy or even died. they so conveniently forget about the servicemen Doris (Dorie) Miller Who carried wounded to safety and manned a machine gun and began firing on Japanese plans. He was awarded with the navy’s highest honors the navy cross which was awarded on May 27 1942 at Pearl Harbor.
