In all honesty, I was quite disappointed and filled with cringe as I watched this. While I understand they were trying to make another "take" on Cinderella, their attempt was quite stupidly done. The title is misleading, as this is more of a "Cinderella Story" then an actual "Cinderella". First of all, Cinderella is known to be a very reserved, intelligent, strong-willed, and mannered person. She is known to be much more graceful than the film portrayed her to be. And this isn't Camila's fault, it's the movie crew's fault. Second, the prince is an ACTUAL PRINCE in the original movie. When I say that, I mean in this movie, he portrayed an "idiot son", and in the original, he was very well mannered, kind, and respectful. LIKE AN ACTUAL PRINCE SHOULD ACT. The chemistry between Cinderella and Prince Charming(or Robert I guess) made more sense in the original, as their personalities were way more compatible and relatable than whatever was going on in this one. Third and finally, (and I apologize for making my review this long) THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE A DAMN MUSICAL. I was truly in "cringe" every time a song would play. I admit, FEW OF THE SONGS, were good, but the rest were unnecessary and took away from the movie. Songs are supposed to be special, and this movie ruined it after the first couple of them. To summarize, while I understand they were trying to give a different "take" on this classic, it was unfortunately not for me and I do not recommend anyone who loves the classic watch this.
