Ann Grimes

I love this version of George Eliot's novel. The fact that this contemporary version is still true to the original adds to its appeal. Timeless themes, a twist of humor, add a Baldwin, it's one I'm glad to have on DVD. An interesting fact if you don't know: George Eliot is really the pen name of Mary Ann Evans. Woman writers were thought to be 'silly' or naive: she was neither.

Only downside is no closed captions for hearing impaired.

Good story with good characters and actors. Nice scenery and music. Believable but with a 'cozy' kind of feel. (Also a little twist with a childhood memory of an old house.)

So interesting and fun. This show brings history alive and makes it relevant as it tracks ancestors of contemporary celebrities back through different historical events. History becomes relatable events that are tied to our collective human experience.I love it.
