I am trying to reach the young lady who was featured in tonight's episode (Easter night). She lost her father to Covid 19 and was not able to be with him. I know how she feels and she and her family have my prayers and sympathies. I hope this might comfort her. I lost my dad ten years ago and was not there when he died. How I wish I could have been there to hold his hand and tell him that I loved him once more. But my mother did not let on that my father was dying so quickly and she decided that me and my brother did not have to be there to say good bye.
But years before when my friend was not with her father when he died, my dad gave me a great gift, and I'm sure your dad would have given you that gift as well if he'd been able. My dad said it didn't matter if I was there when he died. He told me that our lives together, the help we gave each other, the good and bad times we had shared and all of the times we had hugged and told each other that we loved each other was enough. I'm sure your father felt the same - you showed your love for each other every day. He knew you loved him and that you will take care of your family in his absence. Please believe that. There are so many who will not be there with their loved ones at the end. But it is the lives we lead and the everyday ways of loving each other that matter most at the end.
God bless you and your family and bring you strength and peace.
