This is one of those movies that you kinda wonder why someone made it a movie. Really, could have just been an email.

Couldn’t even finish watching this it was SO bad!

There are moments of the movie that were good and the build up was great! However, once it builds up, it sizzles away to a corny mess of a movie. Bad acting, cheesy practical effects and horrible CGI made this a near walk-out of the theater. I am very surprised it is getting great reviews.

Although awful, this movie had moments of charm and intrigue. I definitely would not have seen this in the theater but would be worth the time on a streaming platform. There are some moments where the acting is SO bad (especially of an irate CEO played by Ronny Chieng) that it almost seemed like they were “trying” to make a comedy. Wait till you see the acting from a random detective trying to chew his way through a Now & Later while pretending to write notes on his notepad. This movie made me think a bad intern voiced out, “hey how about a remake of Child’s Play but we focus on how kids these days are addicted to their cell phones but we also make it super funny!”….it wasn’t funny.

This film was truly a beautiful masterpiece. The eerie scratchy score matches it's grungy yet appealing theme throughout the film. The character progression reminded me of Aronofsky's Black Swan. Joaquin Phoenix will definitely be nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Joker. I look forward to seeing this again.
