I'm not unfamiliar with chinese period dramas. But this was quite "David Lynch" and out there. It was very quirky and explored a hitherto unknow aspect of Chinese culture to me, the Rivermen.
Very stylishly produced from sets, costumes and wonderfully acted which all added to the strange plot. Very enjoyable.
