A true potboiler in both the best and worst way. Cliffhangers keep you watching but the plot is overstuffed and overcooked. Just a simple story of setting up a police force in Berlin in the immediate aftermath of the war would have been enough. The Americans add little and with the exception of the consul’s wife their acting could be better. Dropping the role of the brother also would have done no harm and would have made the plot leaner. Still, exciting to watch and the cinematography was stunning. Couldn’t ask for better CGI of Berlin destroyed by bombing and people living amid the rubble.
