Easily one of the greatest (and most underrated) movies of all time. It greatly upsets me to see this movie constantly going under the radar in discussion of amazing films. Phillip Seymour Hoffman gives one of the most incredible performances I have seen in my life, the settings are bizarre yet beautifully bleak, and my god is the story beautiful. There are very few movies that I have walked away from viewing the world differently. Currently on the list are 2001: A Space Odyssey, The End of Evangelion, and The Holy Mountain. Synecdoche, New York has shot up onto that list with ease (as well as two other of Charlie Kaufman's films, Anomalisa and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). I will remember this movie for years to come, and will continue to hold its beauty and somberness close to me. Charlie Kaufman, you are nothing short of a genius. If I could give this 6 stars on Google, I would.
