Well this was a movie... That's kinda it, to be honest.
Okay I went into this movie not expecting much and that was okay. It's not a bad movie, but it lacks a lot that would have made it a good movie.
!!!Spoilers ahead!!!
So we start off our movie with our 'main' characters, Jordana and Robbie (Note: I didn't write 'main' by mistake. I forgot their character names, because they feel kinda irrelevant to the story) who are this happily married couple. Then the husband dies in a car crash and the wife replaces him with an AI (sim if you will), but soon begins to feel the disconnect between him and the person he is supposed to be.
Then we get introduced to our antagonist, a sim cop (Sam Worthington), the sim he's chasing, named Esme, and Simu Liu's character, Casey.
Things happen and then the film ends in a very confusing way.
I won't write too much about how I felt about this summary of a movie that feels like it's supposed to be one of many episodes to a series, so I'll just end it with how I thought the movie would have been better.
Basically, if they focused more on Esme and Sam's character, with Simu as a catalyst, the movie would have gone great. Maybe put Robbie and Jordana as one of the many people that Simu helps and that Sam bumps into? Esme and Sam had more chemistry (not fully in a romantic sense) and story development than the main couple if we're being honest.
