I liked this book, don’t get me wrong it’s not when of my favorites but it was (mostly) written well, the characters were almost believable, I feel like it wanted to be about the dead dog more but it was cast aside as soon they were done with it.
The book does a great job of painting the world and visualizing it to the reader, but i feel the pacing was off, they spent way too much time on the train and how people think that Christopher is off and weird but too little time on the mother and mr shears relationship in the book and the break up felt too forced to make me feel anything about it.
The thing i hated the most was the dad, i liked him as a person but not how he was written during the events of the book like the writer was trying to get us to like him at first and now want the reader to hate him when it's convenient.
Overall i get this book 7.5/10 it was good but not great.
