Probably best if you haven't actually lived through Elton John's life as it happened. It certainly wasn't the worst film I've ever watched at the cinema - that accolade goes to "Independence Day", but it added nothing to the story for me. The tunes were OK, but didn't have the impact that they had back in the day, when they were refreshing and sometimes inspirational. The final bit, with the text on screen telling us what had happened to the characters since the "breakdown" and attempt to give up the drugs and booze, was crass and a very poor ending to a very mediocre film. It was slightly less disappointing than Bohemian Rhapsody, but not much. If you don't know the story, it might be worth watching. Otherwise, best avoided.
