This is one of my all time favorite movies ever. Acting is fantastic, you have no idea what to expect and the gradual transformation of Douglas’ character is completely believable and authentically portrayed, Sean Penn as his brother is just icing on the cake.

This is a beautiful and incredibly entertaining film. I loved the first film and this is just as fantastic if not more so, it is visually stunning and so vibrant, it is redeeming, endearing, so well written and the acting is superb. The world needs this film like Paddington needs the Browns and they need him.

This film is unbelievably moving in its sparse dialogue, vast Western landscapes, and representations of the painful, dangerous, and trying times in the late 1800s. Hanks is just fantastic as is his incredible costar, Helena Zengal.
