Don't get me wrong, the trivia is top notch, and it really challenges me. My issue, ironically, is the main draw himself, Ken Jennings. His presence kills a lot of the fun and frequently feels like a half hour show to give him a chance to flex his mind and stroke his ego. The fact is that the show really has potential, but it feels ever stacked against the contestants in a way that feels far more harsh than similar trivia shows. It is also outrageously impossible to get the "grand prize" of becoming a mastermind. It's difficult enough to make it one show, let alone three. I understand that it should be challenging, but it feels a little much, even with that in mind. Overall, I want to like the show more, but I can't ignore some of the frustrations I find developing as I watch it over time.
