What makes this movie fantastic is its relevance to the world today. It may be set in 2045 but it honestly felt like a mirror image of the world today. The "Game" where they find salvation in from the deteriorating world around them is exactly the Social Media apps we spend countless hours in. Putting out only the best versions of ourselves, doing our best to minus out the flaws whereas in real life we turn a blind eye to the wars, gender based, religious and political violence happening around the world after we are done posting one sad little facebook post or tweet.
I thought the movie was amazing! not because I'm partial to Spielberg. My dad worked with him several years ago when He'd come to India for 'Indiana Jones' way back in 1982. I was born 14 years later and he left behind some lovely photostory books of Indiana Jones and Back to the Future with my dad. I grew up flipping through it like a fascinated child for several years.
I'd love to meet him someday and say thank you. But oh well I'm a 23 year old singer, songwriter and social activist/worker so that is highly unlikely. Too much to fix here in India before I travel to the states someday. But fantastic movie sir, gave me a lot of perspective on how I can fix a lot of the problems in my country.
