When you watch some war films, you’d think it was the US alone. Think of U571 where it was portrayed that US forces captured the Enigma machines and code books. It wasn’t. It was the BRITISH Royal Navy.
There are many other films ‘The Great Escape’ being one. No US armed forces were actually imprisoned in this camp. But to raise money to make the film, they had to include US stars.
But this is a far more realistic portrayal of the battle.
Plus it’s a fabulous film. I loved it.
