Lets get the positives out of the way: The gameplay is the same as the first game but with more upscale combat. It is brutal and at some points fun, but honestly, it seems a little outdated and I think they should changed that in the future. The graphics are good, not great, just good. After seeing Uncharted 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 graphics, I expected better. The environments are spectacular to look at, like a concept painting. The music score is predictably good as always.
The negatives: The game itself looks good, but the problem is its story. It's mediocre at best and doesn't scream 10/10 for me. I get what Naughty Dog was going for in the new direction and I understand what the story was going for, but I didn't enjoy it like I enjoyed The Last of Us(2013). Forgettable characters, bad decisions, plot holes, forces you to do things to make you feel terrible, the unnecessary length of the game, the ending, and the false advisement.
Here's what I thought the game was going to be like: Ellie and Dina are in a relationship and went off on a supply run until Dina got capture by the remaining Fireflies or WLF and dies right in front of Ellie. Ellie goes on a revenge path and Joel shows up to help along the way and discovering what happened to the Fireflies. At least that what we could've gotten like it make out in the trailers, but we got something totally different. This could've been a new entirely different except being a sequel to a masterpiece storytelling that is The Last of Us. I don't really see what was the point of a sequel, the first game had a bitter-sweet closing ending. Probably one of the most miserable, disappointing, anticipating, game of 2020. This game just wasn't right for fans and the time we're living in now.
