A classic movie of the late 1960’s. A memorable performance from Paul Newman and lots of great dialogue.

The movie tries to be clever and succeeds at times. The planning stage is by far the most interesting part of the movie. The movie bogs down when the German agent investigates the identity of Major Martin. I can’t quite figure out his character. He plays the agent as a jerk and overly confident. He seems mildly irritated with the whole investigation. His interactions with everyone borders on incompetence. He’s either the worst spy or they had no one else. Either way, its the downfall of this movie.
