Do not waste your time and money on this film. I can only give credit for some nice camera work, video editing and gore scenes. I won’t try to point out issues with the film, because you can read other folk comments and it makes pretty good summary. Generally it seems that Hollywood is full of old f*rt directors that had their moments and think they can cash out a bit more on the same idea making a sequel even though they have no idea what they are doing. I bet some film school students wrote for Dan this script for 28 years later and he didn’t even read it.

The film was strange, but interesting.

What a dogshit film… Some nonsense water that makes them explode. Some weird ass clown that is lethal as f*ck killer, but somehow in the end is harmless and can’t do shit and just falls after vase hits him. How the friend disappeared, then didn’t show up the next day, but she still was in some chamber locked with some ghoul, shouldn’t she be out as she survived the night? Movie doesn’t make sense and is kinda stupid except some nice spooks which were in a trailer. Don’t waste your bucks.

I genuinely somewhat enjoyed the movie; it was an intriguing thriller with solid suspense. However, I felt the escape scenes, while promising, were too easy and lacked the tension they needed to feel truly gripping. There were some quite questionable logic things, which I won't question and dialogues were plain and unnatural. But despite that, if you ignore those, it's an ok watch. With more thought and creativity, more developed action moments could have built a stronger sense of pressure for the audience. If the writers and directors had refined these aspects, the film could have paved the way for a sequel that expands the story or leads to even better films in a similar style.

'Meh' watch, would not recommend to anyone going to cinema to go and watch it. Nowadays you won't buy people with average vampire story. Lacked mysticism and character exploration, development as for basis. Could have had some plot twists or just some deeper dive through symbols, environment, sacred objects ect. as film had classic stupid horror movie rundown. I can't believe they even killed second person a black guy, so awfully ironic, as it's been laugh for years that in awful horror films black guys die first. Some things didn't make sense, like classic vampire repellants didn't work, but sun for some reason did work. Directors these days really lack fantasy and good writers. How it even made to Hollywood? Actors were fairly good. Funniest part - vampire explosions.

(contains spoilers) As a franchise fan I really liked the movie, BUT I found it a little illogical in a few scenes. When Predator was fighting french colonists, he was such a badass ripping all them apart, but he couldn't handle native american girl? I mean didn't he have anything up his sleeve that would plotwist things a bit, she basically didn't get a scratch from a monster and she seemed too superior over an intergalactic hunter. Then this scene when the girl went to take her dog and axe from french colonist camp, she got attacked by those french folks and basically teared them to pieces, no rolling on a grass and fighting till last breath, it really seems strange, because when a lion attacked her on a tree she felt on a ground and lost consciousness, making her look quite fragile and then when it came to fight colonists she was superior like John Wick from a forest, so there could be a bit of scaling up or something introduced in between. Why did the girl cut the French colonist leader's leg? She said it's because they caught her brother, but I mean really why to just cut the leg and how she thought in advance to use it as a bait? Maybe she could just be injuring french slowly, while he was tied by a tree to get Predator's attention with screams as it would have looked like she 'caught her prey', that i guess makes more sense following the movie's line. One of the last scenes made me raise an eyebrow, like Predator forgot how his own gun works? Why was he pointing at her with his arrow gun even though he didn't know where he was targeting as he didn't see his own laser dots which those arrows were to follow? If Predator lost the mask, he knew that he would eventually miss his shot to a girl and how girl knew that these lasers will work against Predator, it just didn't make sense, It would have been more sensible if there was some sort hole with spikes, left by colonists to hunt bears, Girl traps Predator to fall into that pit, he sees he has no chances and he activates self destruction bomb, Girl escapes by jumping in a lake or something, yada yada. Males that supposedly are the top people in the tribe seemed so weak, they are top hunters in the group who have to have lots of strength, then these folks in the film looked so pale and lacking of muscle reminded me of young teens who just stepped outside their rooms from playing computer games, they could at least hit a gym for couple months before film shooting started. I didn't see any horses, but they were such a huge part of Native American culture at those times, directors could explore better Native North American tribe history and reflex it more profoundly in the film. Then this little animal killing, like really Predator tore out snake's spine? Give me a break, it seems like this Predator is super junior or inexperience by showing him hunting small animals like wolves and snakes as predators usually target apex creatures. Btw, where is this Mayan worshipping Predators as gods thing where they were sacrificing villagers to breed Aliens so Predators could fight them, haven't Native North American tribes encountered that following predator's lore? Script could have been improved as it seems that it was written quite lazy, unprofessional way. Overall it's an ok watch, bearable, but lots of those 'why' were coming up for me, so I can't give more than 1 star as these new creators degraded Predator's lore continuity which is not acceptable for many fans.

Just didn't feel the hype as with the original franchise movies. Plot seemed poorly developed as well.

Everything always ends up well, they get into new difficulties and that is over and over again, they barely get tired or think trough what they just experienced, just a new adventure after another. After 5 episodes I pretty much understood that nothing will change in the series. Nothing really deep to think about than 'trust your child' and believe in kindness. Reminded me of Captain Fantastic (2016). I just kept on watching to understand how that robot civilisation spread trough space and what really caused them to hunt people down, but now as I think I just had to go on YouTube and watch a summery about it instead wasting time on series as nothing really dramatic happened trough all the series as it doesn't keep you to watch till the end. And some science things seemed vaguely developed, like how they get were getting fuel for Jupiter spaceships, like really, few bloody rocks collected in baskets will fuel whole flotilla of spacecrafts, how? Lots of interesting things could have been developed way better. I guess if you are with a family and want to watch something with children it's fine as there is very little shocking things, other than that, it's not that worth of your time.

I loved the movie's atmosphere and how it all was set realistically, finally something decent in theatres, with decent plot as I can't stand those empty dumb, soulless, effect pumped Marvel's cr*p. I still think I rather would prefer Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, but the new one set a high expectations for following sequels and I believe they will surprise us and I hope I will have to change my mind on director's preference. SPOILER ALERT, the only thing I didn't get in the movie was the end, why Riddler, if he had such a great access to everything, didn't plant bombs in the main square where the mayor was and instead flooded the city, it just seemed not that well binding in the movie as other aspect were. Great film, nonetheless, recommended.

Don't waste your money. Everything was pretty much predictable, script was poorly developed and reminded some cheap action movie. Walked out of a cinema without even watching till the end.
