Adding my two cents to these amazing reviews because I just wasted my public holiday watching this wildly confusing and irrational movie. First of all- the first scene where Katie brings Adam his order in the diner and you don’t know they’re married until they’re making out in the car. Like why was that ‘plot twist’ necessary it literally took us five minutes to find out they were married why keep us guessing for the first four minutes of the movie. (Also why does she have a different last name to him?) Their marriage is completely dysfunctional. Katie wants him to stay in school then she’s mad when he doesn’t have a job then she’s mad that he quit school to find a job. And she wants to study at medical school or something like that whole thing was a big deal and was meant to make Adam seem like a lovely husband but then was never explored??!! Also their house they called a ‘dump’ was literally so nice and they had the newest laptops etc like y’all aren’t poor WHY WAS THE DINER SCENE EVEN IN THIS MOVIE I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE CONNECTED THE WHOLE TIME BUT IT NEVER WAS WHY DOES KATIE RANDOMLY GO TO LEONARDS HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO ‘think’ AND LITERALLY DISMISSES LEONARD WALKING AROUND WITH A BASEBALL BAT WHERE DID LEONARDS MONEY COME FROM? AND ITS NOT EVEN THAT MUCH LIKE ADAM WAS SAYING YOU CAN GO AND BUY NEW CARS BUT YOU CANT Julia Byron Kim. The things I could say- why was it necessary for ‘Byron’ (Leonard’s favourite poet?!!) to be in her name when it turns out Leonard didn’t even hire her. WHY DID KATIE JUST RANDOMLY ACCEPT HER STORY ABOUT ONLY COMING TO THE HOUSE IN EVENINGS AND THE LEGITNESS OF THE WILL. AND WHY DID JULIA EVEN FAKE THAT WILL ?!!! WOULDNT IT HAVE BEEN EASIER FOR MICKEY AND HER TO HAVE NO ONE LIVING IN THE HOUSE SO THEY COULD STEAL THE DIAMONDS ?!!! WASNT MICKEY JUST TRYING TO GET KATIE OUT OF THE HOUSE THE WHOLE TIME - Why the heck did Julia fake the will and make things so much harder for herself?!! GIving two stars because Detective Chesler was an absolute girlboss and motherly figure even if somewhat racist - WHY DID EVERYONE HATE ADAM SO MUCH? I guess I did too though he was so selfish and annoying and lazy AND TO BE HONEST CHESLER HAD SOME GOOD POINTS LIKE EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL AS SOON AS ADAM STARTED WORKING THERE AND WHERE DID HE GET THE GUN?!!! AND WHY WAS HE ALWAYS SO DAMN HESITANT TO CALL THE POLICE AND WHY DID HE BUY THEM NEW PHONES FOR ‘PRIVACY’ and why did Katie instantly forgive him just because he said they would pack up the diamonds and money and run away together! Like girl he’s still doing a lot of awful things like stealing, lying, and LITERALLY DUMPING A BODY IN THE GARBAGE LIKE THATS SO DUMB IT LITERALLY GOT DISCOVERED IMMEDIATELY AND HE SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT IT IN THE SHED BUT ALSO WHY DID NO ONE EVER GO INTO THAT SHED AND SEE HIM OR SMELL IT?!! AND JULIA SAID SHE TRACED ETHAN BACK TO LEONARDS HOUSE BUT LITERALLY NEVER EVEN WENT INTO THE SHED AND LOOKED? Where are Ethan’s parents?!! Where are his friends who cared about him why is everyone in this movie so isolated and socially distant and just DUMB ALSO. Leonard having a girlfriend?! Who died in a car accident that just wasn’t relevant to the plot at all? I thought that was gonna be one of the ‘DANGEROUS LIES’
