As a hardcore star wars fan I really wanted to like it but I was truly disappointed in the final product. I truly hated the Last jedi yet I went in mildly hopeful for something great. I left the theater feeling like this trilogy did a poor job explaining the point of it all. The original trilogy was a raw, genius creation that over many years continued, and expanded on the lore in a positive way.
This movie is not a labor of love but a clear attempt to rush a product to the masses and make money. I guess the hacks run Hollywood which means true filmmaking is near its end.
Maybe they will retcon this and realize this wonderful thing George Lucas created is worthy of a real trilogy, bring back Luke and use him right, and get someone like Christopher Nolan so we can get a real trilogy with great story, acting and a real reason for its existence.
