Overall I didn’t hate the movie, but I can’t deny that it was lacking in a lot of key areas. There are some scenes that seemed to be very similar to others, for example the numerous crashes and murder attempts by people who want to steal their supplies. In my opinion this makes it a bit boring and drawn out.
There is some good suspense, but what the movie is lacking most is the fact that the viewer didn’t really learn anything about the characters. There is no description of who they were before the “apocalypse/attack”, which means there isn’t really an emotional attachment to the characters.
Speaking about characters... There are multiple people to attempt to help Will and Tom, such as Ricki and Chad. Ricki is actually the most developed character in the movie in my opinion (because we learn a bit about her past), which isn’t a good thing because the producers end up removing her from the movie.
Oh and the ending you ask? Well... hmmm... You could basically say that there isn’t one.
When it comes down to it this movie isn’t a complete train wreck, with there being plenty of suspense and mystery. On the other hand, there’s so much lacking that I can’t honestly say that the good scenes make up for the bad. Or that it’s even worth the time for that matter.
