My top 3 kpop albums are 2 of Taeyeon's (Purpose and My Voice) and f(x)'s Pink Tape. I haven't loved any albums as much as I loved these 3. When I listened to Chung Ha's Querencia, it immediately added to my list.
It's such a blessed album and KPOP will not be complete without this album. It outstand from all the music releases in 2021 and it's not even halfway the year yet. Chung Ha is definitely genious and whoever she's working with, she must work with them more. I had the same feeling when I listened to Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia with Chung Ha's Querencia. I felt like KPOP needed this kind of albums more. I could probably listen to this whole day. It's just a vibe of whatever I do. I absolutely love it!
However, as much as this album is great, it's not perfect. Don't get me wrong, I'll defend this album with my life, and I stanned Chung Ha because of this album. The cons that I felt however is that it's an extremely long album! I was shocked when I saw 21 tracks. Taylor Swift's Lover with 18 tracks was already so long how much more 21. I love this album so much but maybe it won't be a slow burn if it's not this long. I also have a slight con with Side D {Pleasure} the songs in that side are mostly ballad. Again, the songs are great and I get the concept towards the end, but all the tracks before that side were energetic and lively and the Side D coming in slow became more dragging.
Despite these personal cons, the whole album is a bop. I will give it a 10/10 (or in this case 5/5), and I will stand by what I say that it's the most outstanding musical release of 2021. It's just the best album I have heard this year and I will stan Chung Ha from now on.
Congratulations to the very beautiful album Chung Ha and I'm excited of your future releases! 💖
