It was ever thus. I enjoyed the film immensely, just seen it for a second time. A wonderful, moving, amusing, touching and powerful film with blinding music throughout. As you expect from everything that Queen touch it is quality, it exceeded my expectations and being a lifelong Queen fan, my expectations were high. So high in fact that I wasn't too keen on seeing the film because I didn't want to be disappointed, but I wasn't, it was great. Tears, smiles and brilliant music, trademark Queen not taking themselves too seriously and Rami Malec and Lucy Boynton have a real connection as Freddie and Mary - if this isn't the best biopic of the decade then I'm a 62 year old Queen fan - yes I am!
I started by saying it was ever thus, critics believe they are powerful but the public are more powerful and are not easily fooled. The truth is many critics have hated Queen throughout their career and done everything in their power to belittle the achievements of the band. Look where the power is, over 40 years later!
