Another flashy Netflix production that relies on big names but delivers very little. It is truly disheartening to see names like Maniratnam and A.R.Rahman associated with such shallow projects. It's almost like we are forgetting what great cinema these artists have made before. Netflix produces these anthologies quickly (like the atrocious 'Feels Like Ishq'), with the only objective being to "create content." Artists need to have something to say, and none of these films have a message. Only big budgets and flashy cinematography (The fancy and elongated intro of the series should tell you all you need to know.)
The episode Peace, which centers around the Sri Lankan LTTE, should have been a touching and carefully made story because of the subject matter. Instead, they could barely find actors good enough to play the roles, or a director to approach it sensitively. It is almost a disrespect to the actual people involved in the war to see them depicted so callously. In all seriousness, the puppy was the best actor in the episode. Truly disheartening stuff.
