I haven't disliked a movie as much as this one in a really long time. It starts out great, and then just crashes. Super muddy CGI effects, way too much human emphasis and not enough monsters (they cut every fight scene with a person doing people stuff every 10 seconds), and a weird emotional plot that took up way too much energy (they were worried about their daughter the whole time while literally billions of people were dying). All that would be fine if the writing were okay, but they started tons of little unnecessary subplots that didn't lead to anything, they had a bunch of weird blatant symbolism that they kept pushing like it was clever, and there wasn't really any character that I could root for as a hero (minus one dude who dies half way through). To top it all off, they kept using shakey camera effects like it immersed folks in the action when it really just made stuff kinda blurry during fight scenes. It was just terrible in every way you could imagine honestly
