This movie was spot on for it's time. The grittiness, the way the mayor and the police department acted towards each other in NY. Yeah, people actually talked like that, there were no safe spaces to go and cry in. This was the time when Son of Sam and other serial killers were roaming the big cities. this was the time, when the mob still controlled alot of NY and corruption was hitting the front page over some city official every day. This was also the time when the FBI and the police were trying different things and different types of investigating to catch criminals. If you really watched this movie, you would understand the raw emotion and the passion that these actors had playing their parts. It was one of my last vhs tapes that I kept including the Abyss. I finally found the dvds for them, and keep them as a digital copy. I still watch it every year on December 31st.
