John Smith – Google

This is a seminal film from the 70s. It depicts HuangYu the god of war fighting against aliens. Guanyu's GuangDao (which is his halberd) is a large blade that he can wield it in full circles to fight against multiple space aliens. At one point, the aliens summons a net that drops down above him. GY (which I will use to denote GuanYu as it is his initials) is so powerful that he just burst straight out of those nets. The aliens are stunned but continues to fight on. Near the end, the alien leader attempts to use a ray gun that GY skillfully battles against with his trusty melee weapon. The scale of this fight is phenominally large that both GY and the aliens tower above the skyscrappers in this dense urban enviroment that they engage the battle in.

People who dislike this movie misses the true message of this film. It is a coming of age movie about a girl from the fly over country making it out in the big city. It is about the lose of innocence and exploitation at the seedy underbelly of the city. And about triumph inspite of that. This movie encapsulated the American dream and should be remembered along side the all time greats like Forrest Gump.
