Agatha Christie Murder of Roger Ackroyd is one of the best crime novel ever published. The book is about the murder of Roger Ackroyd, a wealthy man with huge possession. A famous detective Hercule Poirot retires to a small town but due to the strange murder,he has to come out of retirement and solve the case.
The story is narrated by Dr Shepherd, neighbor of Hercule Poirot. He helps Poirot to solve the case.
The novel is highly appreciated due to its twist at the end where the narrator (Dr. Shepherd) himself is the Murderer. The epilogue of the novel serves as the suicide note of Dr. Shepherd, who after being caught by Poirot , narrates the plot and commits suicide.
The book is often said to be the "masterpiece" of Agatha Christie. Readers don't lose interest or the track throughout the story. It makes to readers more curious after every chapters as new facts unfold. But the highly acknowledged end makes the murder very difficult to be predicted by the readers.
