Definitely regret buying this game for the $40 price tag on PS4. Maybe there is more content on the PC version, but the console version is pretty bare-bones. As it is right now, it should be a $20 game. Don’t get ripped off because you’ve been wanting to play a skate game and Skate 4 is too far into the future.
As for the mechanics of the game, they are actually pretty good. The way the two analogs are used independently from each other make landing tricks feel rewarding. However, it does take some getting used to coming off a game like Skate.
My biggest complaint with this game, other than the price for the content, is that all the challenges can only be completed as if the player is set to regular stance. It’s kind of annoying because I skate goofy in real life and have my player set to goofy. The “challenges” mechanics really help you get a feel for the game, but I’m learning it all in regular stance which is backwards for me. Sometimes I find myself trying to Ollie with the left analog because it’ll say “Ollie” for a challenge and I’ve gotten used to skating goofy.
