I have been dying to write something about Lisa and Usman. First of all, I am a total fan of the shows, all of them. But Lisa makes this season’s experience excruciating to watch. How can you allow the extent of her verbal abuse to be aired? I mean it is flat out offensive and awful! I want to have compassion for her but her attitude is feeding the anger and hatred that the world doesn’t need right now. It’s in no way funny just because it’s on tv. Verbal abuse/assault is not entertainment! If these characters were all actors in this show it would be equally if not more offensive. Lisa needs to work out her own issues before “engaging” in any relationship. And it’s obvious that Usman wants to further his career with music in the land of opportunity here in the U.S of A. And if she has to be so defensive, not trusting, combative and controlling then she is missing out on The love in her own self sabotaging ways. How can this woman claim to “love a man more than life itself” when she is such a miserable person. It’s very disturbing to watch. She is so mean! However, the fact that Usman stands up for himself even though he always caves. But I am confident that it will end up being a lose lose situation for her. If they marry and he goes to the states, he will be on a mission to climb the ladder in the music industry and ultimately cheat on her. And if they don’t work it will be as a result of Usman dumping her. She clearly is in no mental head space to be giving her foreign boyfriend ultimatums. She is simply out for control over him, belittling him because she has no control over her own life. I wish it didn’t bother me as much as it does because it’s just television. But again, verbal abuse or any type of abuse airing on national tv is in poor judgement; real or not. I’m sure the show had plenty of candidates qualified for the show. Airing a story like this is just in poor taste... for The Learning Channel?!! C’mon!!
