I will tell you that the movie is wrong in alot of ways.first of all the ship in the movie is the USS Lowry DD 770 not the Laffey. the man on the radar that first found the Russan sub is myself. It was not as simple picking up that sub that the movie shows, it's a story in itself.you can ask any radarman who was aboard at the time.
