This album is truly something special. After Living Room and The Click, we thought we had AJR pinned down to a style, but of course that just kinda wasn't true. They blew me away with songs ranging from the heartfelt and slow Turning Out pt II and Dear Winter to the fast, excitement-filled The Entertainment's Here and Break My Face. They made sure to include a healthy dose of weirdness with the sarcastic and whimsical feeling of Birthday Party, and with every song had a message that would relate with nearly every person on this planet. The full album begins and culminates with Next Up Forever and Finale, both in a modern broadway kind of style with AJR esque elements, giving rise to the name Neotheater. This album really is something special, and may be the best of AJR's three spectacular albums.
