I thought that the story line was confusing . The depiction of the ‘black house’ interiors were too grand by far. The actors would have benefited from some authentic accent coaching - perhaps it would have been better to have some passages in Gaelic and have subtitles. If the Kirk scenes were supposed to capture the oppressive nature of the ‘Wee Frees’ then the film makers should have taken guidance from ‘ Breaking the Waves’.
