If you open your hearts instead of your ears, and use your funny bones instead of your feelings, I bet you could understand or get behind this show. Watch the first season and debate whether or not you like it. It tackles the serious issues of the black experience. When it comes to interracial dating, finding yourself as a black gay, being a mixed girl, being light skin, accepting yourself a black individual, being aware of the things you may face as a black individual, being a dark skin woman. This show talks about all aspects of it, not just the ones that involve white people. It shows it from our point of view with a black style and grace. It shows how the world looks like to us looking in on us. It also details a few white struggles, and espcially relatable for my white boyfriend, as he has said himself. The tittle is misleading, it’s merely a calling to attention to get you to watch it hopefully. It’s ya trying to show you what it’s like to be black, not blame for for our experience. We are trying to call out racists, not good people. If the shoe does not fit, become a supporter instead. Stand with us, not against us.
