I am a sucker for IFC movies and black love stories, but this on wasn’t written for me. Maybe I’m too old, lol. Cons: So much foul language Three sex scenes before the 30 minute mark The relationship between the two didn’t seem authentic (perhaps bc I ff through the sex scenes and tapped out during the conversations that were laced w so many curse words) Actors were ok Pros: It’s someone’s reality, someone’s story The bond between the girlfriends was believable. I appreciated them. The song at the end 👌🏾

I’m an hour and five mins in with an hour and ten minutes to go. Never had any interest in this film bc the trailer was so vague. As I’m watching I see why the trailer was vague. I keep asking myself what is this movie about? What am I watching? Why was the first 7 minutes car rides and music?This movie is loud- noise; sirens, screams, arguments, cursing, music, just loud. Visually it was shot very well. I’m just not feeling the plot, there’s so much of nothing happening. I don’t want to spoil it and give away the plot, but how did we get here? Was it the prescription drugs? The overbearing father? Why is the father a monster? Why is it so long??Guess i will learn in an hour when it ends. Unless i fall asleep on it. Read some other reviews, it doesn’t seem to get better. And knowing that a white male wrote the story of a black family where both black male characters seem to be angry or violent is infuriating. But guess who’s a good guy? The sister’s white boyfriend. Go figure.
