Final Rating: 4 stars out of 5 (especially in relativity to Paramore's other albums. This...isn't my fave from them, but they're one of my two favourite bands (...ever), so...it has a lot of competition, and it's still pretty dang awesome).
The album is definitely a lyrical masterpiece, full of songs with raw, hard-hitting lyrics. The majority of this album is definitely rock, but it does have it’s share of slow, emotional jams (try ‘Misguided Ghosts’, or…yes, I know it’s a tad overplayed: ‘The Only Exception’). ‘Ignorance’ remains my favourite song to play when I’ve had a terrible day or feel frustrated in any way: you can literally feel the waves of frustration (borderline anger) rippling off it. The other tracks on this album are amazing, too. 'Turn It Off' is one of my favourite Paramore songs of all time.
I’m fairly certain this is the Paramore album most popular amongst fans, and definitely the one which has produced the most hits. Personally, I prefer 'Paramore' or ‘RIOT!’, and ‘After Laughter’ is pretty darn amazing, too, but this is a rock solid album that touches upon every emotion on the spectrum, hitting every single listener hard with masterfully crafted lyrics, Hayley’s powerful voice and the perfect blend of instruments.
