This is a historical film, not to say timely and punctual, but contains some vibrant and fresh dialogue that bubbles in the memory like a refreshing stream. At the centre of all this mayhem and chaos is Brian Stimpson-played with the intensity and bedraggled dignity by John Cleese- who is a kind of tentative bundles of nerves encased in a gangly lynchpin's body Amongst the great sight gags is a quintessential British comedy actor who is like Basil Fawlty, capturing the sweet essence of humour and turning it into a bejewelled sweat bead. This explains how he lost his way and never scaled the heights again, even though the mainstream yet overvalued and starry A Fish Called Wanda succeeded it.Make no mistake, Clockwise is a forgotten treasure.
