Is it as good as the first one? Of course not, but how could it be? As far as sequels go, this one is about as good as a sequel could possibly be. It doesn't re-write the first film, expands on the story and keeps a similar tone and tenor. Couldn't recommend more highly. Great film!

This show will probably not make a new fan out of you, but if you are a fan of the novel, the original show or SK in general, I think you will appreciate it. It's a true remake in that its basically the original with quite a facelift and a great nod to the fans at the end. If you are a King nerd like me you will appreciate the ending quite a bit, I think. Ignore the uber-negative reviews and just go enjoy something.
