This movie was such a great representation of the culture of Colombia. Both in the family aspect and also in the daily life aspect. As a Colombian, every time I saw the food and heard the music it almost brought tears to my eyes. The way they depicted the matriarchy en la familia Madrigal was perfect. I too was born into a matriarch and I believe that a lot of Latin American cultures experience this for better or for worse. But, in the end, we love our family and that collectivism is something that makes our culture so beautiful. The diversity of the people was also something so beautifully represented, Colombia is extremely diverse in ethnicity and they got that right! All in all, I’m glad to know that my children have a movie that represents them so well!
P.S. THANK YOU DISNEY FOR SPELLING COLOMBIA RIGHT!! Always with an O and never with a U! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
