Houses 2020 is the catharsis that Melbourne needed in hard lockdown. If you can understand this is take the piss humour, then you can feel a massive weight lifted. The Victorian government abandoned it's people, if your disabled, get less money than the non disabled (even though you are more restricted because of the impact of disability and the higher cost of living) (no COVID supplement for disabled or carers and unexpected increased NDIS costs but no additional funding screwing your long term NDIS budget, both federal government but higher impact on Victoria because of the long lockdown). If you speak another language hope your neighbours will be able to explain to you any changes, since such little effort has been put in. If you wanted to leave a relationship, we didn't have heaps of spare housing too move to, so risk domestic violence because the services don't have enough resources. The lockdown encourages people to stay in something disfunctional for financial reasons or because you can't work, you might as control someone else it will give you something to do, to make another person mentally break. Not techy or don't have internet, you may have most of your ability to communicate and interact with people cut off because the population is suddenly expected to"zoom" and you are not allowed to meet up with people. If you complain that stage 4 is harmful to people with disabilities, because their disability needs are different to the blind blanket that is stage 4, you are labelled as either a conspiracy nut or worse someone who wants to kill old people, because old people are somehow more important than the disabled people who should just die or suffer significant harm under the restrictions that is okay ish for neurotypicals. The discussions under lockdown are very either or not many people took the middle ground and it didn't matter if you used logic. Housos went were no-one else went, everyone with a problem was expected to use talk therapy which works for some people but not everyone, some problems are too big to disappear by just talking. Some problems need funding, some problems need resources, some problems need a plan. Housos used humour, Australia will need a lot of take the piss humour if we are to fix our real problems not our imaginary problems on paper before they fester on a huge scale and ruin some of the good we have left in our system. I thank Housos for having the balls to help the people in lockdown.
