One takeaway I see here is DO NOT TYPE CAST YOUR WRITERS. Who would have thought that the guy that wrote Hangover and Scary Movie sequels was sitting on a gem like this. This show is terrifying and frustrating and intense in all the best ways and I love it so much. Everything feels real and genuine. Certain liberties are taken narratively and events were shuffled for the flow of the narrative but it was all done with such care. I brought this series on amazon and cannot recommend it enough as well as the hour or so podcast that each episode has as it is vastly interesting and fills in little details behind the scenes that did not have time to cover but are truly fascinating. Believe the hype behind this series as it really is as good as everyone says. Take care with episode 4 though as I won't spoil it but there is something troubling for animal lovers. You'll know its coming if you watch and just know that it's tough.

It's not high art but anyone who looks at the title can tell that going in. You could go into detail about how it makes no since that the entire cast is mostly made up of Americans despite being in 1500s Europe, that they carry weapons that would be hard to find even today, or that Hansel somehow knows what diabetes is and how to either make or find insulin but all of that just feels like picking on the low hanging fruit. If you like blood squibs, swearing, action, and a dumb movie you don't have to think about at all this is for you. Otherwise, stay clear.
