For starters, the base BF2042 multiplayer almost couldn't be worse. Hit detection is practically non-existent. Rounds rarely hit the intended target, regardless of accuracy. However my main grievance is Battlefield Portal. Battlefield Portal was intended to be (as it had appeared) essentially a remastering of classic Battlefield games. BF Portal is more disappointing than the main game. There is NO PROGRESSION in BF Portal. You do not level up, you do not gain attachments through kills or experience, you simply have whatever guns and attachments the developers choose you have. ALSO, the Battlefield 3 portal has a WHOPPING 2 maps from BF 3. Neither of them are Bazaar or Operation Metro. In summary, if you are disappointed by Battlefield 2042, DO NOT play Battlefield Portal, particularly if you are a veteran Battlefield player. Portal only serves to disappoint.
